Disclaimer and Ethics

Disclaimer

At The Witchy Guide, we believe in clarity, ethics, and personal responsibility. This page is here to make sure you know exactly where we stand, what we offer, and what we don’t.

While I am the sole human behind this site, much of the content is co-created with guidance from my spirit team. So when I use the word “we,” that includes my spirit team that supports and informs the work here.

Personal Practice & Perspective Disclaimer

Everything shared on The Witchy Guide — from blog posts to spell ideas, deity work, magical theory, and witchcraft tips — reflects the author’s personal path. These views, methods, and interpretations have been shaped by over 25 years of active practice in Irish witchcraft, Wicca, psychic development, and energy work.

This is a personal site, not a universal rulebook. The Witchy Guide is not here to tell you what to believe — it’s here to offer tools, insight, and options. What you do with that is entirely your call.

Respecting Other Paths

Witchcraft is not a one-size-fits-all path. Different witches, pagans, spiritual workers, and magickal folk walk different roads and all are valid. Nothing on this site is intended to dismiss or override the beliefs or practices of any other practitioner, coven, group, or tradition.

You won’t find dogma here. What you will find are ideas, inspiration and encouragement to think for yourself, trust your gut, and work in a way that feels authentic to you. Your path is your own, so do what works for you and leave the rest.

Cultural Roots and Ancestral Practice

Many of the practices I share come from Celtic and European traditions, including Wicca, Irish witchcraft, and ancestral folk magick. Colonisation, religious control, and cultural loss deeply disrupted Irish paganism over time—like many other land-based spiritual paths. Still, it endured in coded forms: through folklore, seasonal customs, and everyday folk magic passed down within families.

In some cases, where parts of that knowledge were lost, I’ve adapted commonly used techniques found in other spiritual systems to align with my own ancestral framework. These adaptations are rooted in my personal practice and are never presented as part of any closed or culturally specific tradition.

Boundaries Around Closed Practices

I do not work with closed spiritual systems such as, but not limited to, Hoodoo, Voodoo, Santería, Indigenous Spiritual Practices and Traditional Initiatory Wicca. I respect the right of all cultural groups to define the boundaries of their own sacred traditions. That respect is only amplified in regards to those spiritual systems that have preserved their sacred knowledge and survived despite colonisation, suppression, or forced erasure. I believe mutual respect and spiritual consent matter.

My path is grounded in lived experience, ancestral connection, and personal responsibility. I encourage others to explore their own roots with the same care, and to support authentic voices and be respectful when drawn to traditions outside their own.

The Witchy Guide’s Stance on Hexes & Baneful Magic

This site does not promote or encourage hexes, curses, or baneful magick.

That’s not part of the ethical approach we teach or practice here. We focus on healing, empowerment, protection, clarity, and personal responsibility — not control or harm.

That said, we also respect that other practitioners may walk different paths. We’re not here to police anyone’s craft. What you choose to practice is your business but if you’re looking for hexes, curses, or baneful spellwork, this probably isn’t the right site for you.

No Guarantees, No Promises

Magic isn’t a vending machine. Neither is this website.

The content on TheWitchyGuide.com is offered for educational, spiritual, and informational purposes only. While we talk a lot about spell work, manifestation, energy shifting, and spiritual development, none of it is a guarantee of results.

Magic, like life, is full of variables — many of which are outside our control. Use this content to support your path, not to outsource responsibility or avoid doing your own thinking.

Not Legal, Financial, Medical or Professional Advice

Let’s be super clear: Nothing on this site should be taken as legal, medical, financial, or psychological advice. We’re not doctors, lawyers, therapists, or accountants — and we don’t pretend to be.

If you’re facing a serious issue in any of these areas, please seek help from qualified professionals. Above all, use your common sense and take care of yourself. Magick can support healing — it doesn’t replace real-world action.

Your Responsibility, Always

The choices you make are yours. Your beliefs, your spells, your outcomes, your energy, YOUR responsibility. This site encourages personal empowerment, not dependency. You are encouraged to use your own discernment, critical thinking, intuition, and ethics before taking action based on anything you read here.

External Links & Resources

Occasionally, The Witchy Guide may link to other websites, creators, or tools. We share these in good faith, but we are not responsible for the content, claims, or ethics of external sites, especially as content may change after linking. Always do your own research.

Things Change

Witchcraft is a living, evolving practice — and so is this website. Therefore, the content may change over time as new insights emerge or older ideas shift. That’s part of the journey.
